Where do I start when booking the Nürburgring?
Are you a little lost with how to go about booking the Nürburgring? Perhaps it's your first time, or you're booking for a significant other, family member or friend? Follow our guide below to help get you started — what track to drive, what activities to do, and what car to choose.
Which track?
At the Nürburgring there are actually two circuits. The Nordschleife is 21km (13 miles) long and is what most people associate with the Nürburgring — more like a tarmac rally stage than a normal racetrack. It's open just about every day: Monday–Friday for 2 hours in the evening and full days on weekends.
The Grand Prix Track (GP Track) is the smaller circuit used by Formula One, DTM, Superbikes and the European Le Mans series, ranging from 3.6km to 5.1km depending on configuration. It's open less often, on average 2-4 times per month.
What's your budget?
The average RSR customer spends around 1000€, but this varies greatly from customer to customer, and there are options for almost any budget.
Under 300€

- Multiple activities like a road tour, taxi laps and driving the circuit yourself (like our First Timer package)
- Enter a private trackday with less traffic, in your own car or an entry level car
- Drive one of our supercars on a guided road tour
Over 1500€
- Drive a high end supercar on the track, or try multiple different cars in one go
- Experience other great circuits like Spa-Francorchamps in one trip

Choosing an activity
Hire a car and drive the track
This is what the vast majority of people want to do when they visit the Nürburgring — hire a car to drive it for yourself, usually with an RSR instructor for the first lap.
Recommended for
- People who enjoy driving on race tracks
- Adrenaline junkies who don't mind a bit of risk
- When they like to do it "for themselves"
Taxi Laps
Ride along as a passenger while a professional driver takes you around the track at speed — often done after driving the track yourself.
Recommended for
- Adrenaline junkies who want to see the circuit at pace
- Someone worried about the financial risk of driving themselves
- Someone that loves cars but is inexperienced driving on track
Guided Road Tours
You drive the car, following one of our staff in a lead car on public roads, stopping around the area to talk about the circuit and see secret manufacturer bases.

- Spirited driving without the pressure of the track
- Getting a feel for a higher end car at lower financial risk
- Groups who want to share and test drive different cars
First Timer Package
A package deal covering the main things people want at the Nürburgring: a guided road tour, then a choice of driving the track yourself or taking a taxi lap.

Nürburgring Driving Academy
Individualised one-on-one packages tailored to you and your driving style, no matter your level, to properly learn the Nürburgring.

What do I need to bring?
You don't need much to enjoy the Nürburgring! Just a great attitude and some of the following, if you want to drive the track:
- Valid drivers licence from your country of origin
- International drivers permit if your licence isn't in English or EU origin
- Passport or ID
- Credit card for incidentals or deposits
- Comfortable clothing — race suits are unnecessary
- Narrow shoes (sneakers are fine, no boots, sandals or bare feet)
- Drivers must be over 18 with a full drivers licence
- Passengers must be a minimum of 16 years of age
